Artist's description:

Inspired by this brilliant Scottish colourist's work; japanese prints & flattening of the picture surface of interest.(I have a Degree in Printed Textile Design) The painting is presented in a pop art style- also influenced by the work of Roy Lichtenstein.
I used masking tape when I was learning 'painting & decorating'- this seems a much more creative use of the tape!.- also notice the introduction of the oriental chopsticks- an acknowledgement of Eastern influence..-
I taught Cantonese students art in the dim & distant past!..

Materials used:

Still-life with chopsticks. (2016)
