My prints come with a 6 cm white "surrounding", which makes the framing / mounting more convenient.
If you prefer a "ready-to-hang-solution" - speak to me and for sure we'll find a medium, we both could live with.
The prices of my limited artworks rise, the further the edition proceeds. In other words: the first print of the edition is the best value - more or less a bargain, the last one consequently the most expensive. I consider this logical, because by doing so, my artworks automatically rise in value.
"The becoming" was photographed in the Martin Gropius Bau in Berlin / Germany at the doors to a Bauhaus exhibition in 2009, where a big round gate with mirrors welcomed the visitors. Walls, pillars and parts of that gate were geometrical painted in different colours. I played arround with the reflections, brought back- and foreground together like in my series "Collisions" and couldn't stop photographing. "The becoming" was one result.
It's one of my abstracts, for which I created the term "Paintrealistic Photography - Malereirealistische Fotografie".
"The becoming" is also part of my series called "Kunstraum" (more or less "art venue" / Kunst=art raum=room), which evolved by coincidence. In 2009 and early 2010 I visited quite a few art venues, afterwards realizing that I almost always had "stolen" a new piece of art from this places with my camera. It wasn't about the art being showcased, it was about the unnoticed beauty, which nobody else would seemingly be aware of: the hidden emergency exit closed by a red cord, a staircase, a shadow from a window, a curtain ... .
The series is about the blindness of people: Someone attending an exhibition of art, obviously liking beauty, but not being capable of seeing it "in the open wild". On the one hand I find this quite bewildering, but then again I'm very thankful for that fact.
Because if everybody woud be able to realize all the beauty, that surrounds us ... what would we artists be needed for?
"The becoming" was part of my 2010 exhibition "Kunstraum" in the Berlin gallery "Kunstschwimmer".
