Artist's description:

A gentle touch, a kind word, that is the best kind of teacher for a horse. Here, one of the top trainers of performance horses does just that with a two-year old quarter horse. The competition the gelding is being trained for is called "Cutting." This is where a horse and rider separate a specified young steer from a herd. This competition mimics actual ranch work when an animal needs to be moved away in order to receive care. No harm comes to the steer.
