Artist's description:

The sound of falling water is so intense it's almost necessary to shout to be heard. The scene is looking down onto Tahquamenon Falls, located in the upper peninsula of Michigan on the Tahquamenon River. The river below the falls has sculpted a gorge that amplifies the roar of the water going over the precipice. This work was painted using oil paint thickened with cold wax medium, making the paint less viscous but more transparent, allowing prior layers to show through the upper layers.
