Original artwork description:
This face developed - as usual from my imagination; the painting started life as an A6 pencil sketch. It started to suggest to me, whilst I was painting, the character of Tadzio from Herman Hesse's novel 'Death in Venice'. No more than that. The name stuck. Although it is broadly an acrylic painting on canvas, there is also collaged paper on the surface of the canvas under the paint.
