Artist's description:

Abstraction of a Victorian steel panelled and riveted road bridge over a feeder river for a floating basin in the Bristol harbour complex. This work was created by multiple images taken by a 6x6cm Rolleiflex twin lens camera which have been stitched together. The camera was at all times handheld and in a plane parallel with the subject and at a variety of heights and distances along the bridge. Every variation in colour and texture and tone of the paintwork is revealed along with graffiti and other marks on the paintwork. In effect you are presented with a half size sample of 5 panels of the bridge hanging on your wall. You feel as if you can touch the steelwork and feel the texture and temperature of the structure.

Materials used:

Digital archive print on Reynobond aluminium backing.
