This piece started as an interpretation of a painting I saw in downtown Portland. My finished work is nowhere near that painting, but there is inspiration from it.
I have a fascination with squares and rectangles, so I tried to ignore my instinct, which I do on a regular basis. I'm happy with the result and may visit this theme on future works.
There's been some discussion as to what the "date" in the title refers to. For the moment, I remain silent.
