This stretch of woodland is adjacent to a large felled area on the west side of Black Park, striking because of the contrasting density of forest against the baron and cleared forest alongside. My task is to represent a colourful scene without losing brightness or luminosity – I'm trying to give every part of the canvas the same visual attention and detail. As I work my pallet becomes smaller and the danger of similitude creeps in.
But I'm pleased with the result
