The acrylic painting on unstretched canvas depicts the subjugation the populace is under by the agents of social control (power structure). The subjugation comes in many forms, including, gender, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status etc. The red hue manifests the notion that society is not described in terms of black and white. The red hue accentuates the passion expressed by our differences as well as the fury associated with the myriad forms of subjugation. The acrylic paint was applied in layers to demonstrate the multi-dimensional aspect of the problem in a society that prides itself in freedom and equality for all.
