Original artwork description:

Factories, machines and industrial equipment have a certain anonymity when close-cropping removes sections from their original context. This is especially true if the equipment is discarded, rusting and rotting away with no apparent current usefulness. The mess of pipes, valves, nuts and bolts takes on a life of its own, surpassing pure function for an indulgence in beauty. Fields of colour further abstract and obstruct; attempts at identification become increasingly difficult and thus, irrelevant. Function gives way to aesthetics, and representation can be appreciated on the level of abstraction. The irony of finding beauty in decay is not lost on me.
