This large painting forms part of a series reflecting the vivid light of southern France.
The hill village of Les Baux - one of the "Plus Beaux Villages de France" - is famous for its views, its fine Renaissance architecture and its ruined castle. Here, the castle is seen bathed in light at the end of one of the shady streets.
The box canvas is painted around the sides and may be hung unframed.
