A calm face with closed eyes, carved in *limestone.
I've designed this stonecarving so that it appears that her face is emerging from, or sinking into water and her hair is tapering upwards to give the impression of movement.
She has been placed in my garden for a few years so the stone is weathered and if it is set against similar stone background she is camouflaged (see photos).
I've also taken photos of her set against little pebbles, as well as inside my home - and there's one of her as she started out before the weathering - in the honey coloured limestone that is found near where I live in Lincolnshire.
It is flat on the reverse so she can stand against a wall.
An idea is to display the carving sitting in something that would hold water; perhaps set into a shallow pond?
Signed and dated on the underneath.
Securley wrapped and boxed; sent by Tracked delivery.
*I received an Arts Council Award to learn stonecarving in 2003, mid career, when I was fifty - I was fortunate in that my tutor was one of the team who worked on Lincoln Cathedral at that time. I really love working in this beautiful local limestone.
