An acrylic painting of a section of Warsaw, almost totally destroyed by the Nazis in the uprising of 1944 and beautifully rebuilt. In the blank area stands the Castle, its destruction represented by the blank space. Poland has a tumultuous history well represented in its excellent museums. The cuisine is hearty and much more varied than it was during the Soviet era. Excellent tours from Walkative, some guides grew up in that era and share their experiences.
