Original artwork description:

One of a series of around 25 paintings reflecting on the Battle of Stalingrad. Here during a brief lull in the bombardment, civilians trapped in the besieged city scuttle out of their cover to search for food and fuel. Of course there was very little to be found, and the title is ironic. The endless expanse of the snowy landscape stretches out either side in a perpetual blizzard.

Materials used:

Oil paint and laminated computer print on hardboard, Acrylic primer, damar varnish
