An ancient church in a secluded and mysterious setting, tucked away in the hills behind Penrhyndeudraeth in Gwynedd, North Wales. Dating back to the 12th and 13th century, the building has a fine medieval wooden arch-braced roof and the churchyard is crammed with overgrown slate tombstones and headstones, knitted together with brambles. The church is in the care of 'The Friends of Friendless Churches' and, after costs, I will donate £40 from the sale of this painting to the Friends to help them continue with their fine work.
Painted on location in mixed media (pen, ink wash and gouache) on acrylic gesso-primed Crawford & Black 230gsm acid-free paper. This painting is supplied unmounted and unframed and will be sent in a postal tube. FREE POSTAGE TO UK BUYERS.
