This painting was inspired by the beach at Sandsend on the north east coast of England, near to Whitby. I love the shapes and patterns of the water pools created by the tide and the enduring timelessness of the old wooden groynes, but I hope that I have also given the scene a slightly surreal quality.
It is an oil painting on a deep sided box canvas - framing is not necessary as it is fully painted around all four edges. It is strung ready for immediate hanging. The size is 100cm x 50cm x 3.5cm
I am a very careful packer and for transport it will be double bubble wrapped and packed between sheets of plywood with the corners and sides further protected. The whole package will then be wrapped in stout brown paper.
