Swallowtree woods in west Wales, full of beech and pine trees, wildflowers and shimmering light. All is well, all is warm, all is Spring. This is wood much loved by local families and holidaying visitors alike, and nothing changes - there are campions, bluebells, wood anemones in May; foxgloves and big ferns in June; soft wild roses in July.
I paint by building up layers and layers of beautiful Michael Harding oil paints, laid over and over, side by side so that soft greens, warm yellows, pinks and blues blend together.
