Artist's description:

In Japanese culture, the cherry blossom represents the fragility and the beauty of life - a reminder that life is beautiful but also short. Butterflies are predominantly a symbol of transformation due to their amazing process of metamorphosis. To Native Americans, the butterfly is a symbol of change, joy and colour, whereas in Chinese culture, the butterfly represents love, specifically young love, so this artwork is a reminder to not waste a minute - to take in the beauty around us and soak it in. To enjoy life to its fullest!

This delicate 3D collage is handmade using authentic Japanese origami paper. The blossoms are raised at differing heights and some of the butterflies are stuck to the glass lending this piece a sense of depth and movement.

The artwork is done on Canford acid free paper and framed in a delicate lime washed and waxed tulip wood frame and signed.

Please note that the artwork in the interior view is not to scale.
