Steep banks of trees border the lanes that creep up the valleys surrounding Shaftesbury. As I drive, I catch glimpses of trunks, pops of coloured leaves, light shafts and the summit with the ubiquitous 'caterpillar' of trees crawling over it. This is one of the start of a series of paintings that are borne out of that impression and developed increasingly towards abstraction. No brushes are used to make this, just sticks and bits of cardboard to scrape and dot the paint.
Will be signed on front.
