The landscape depicts a mountainous or at least rocky landscape. It is based on a cardboard model in which I was experimenting with simple forms that created dramatic escarpments. It has been painted in an expressionist manner with golden and earthy colours. Below lies a Chinese ceremonial dog which evolved into a Sphinx and fused with the landscape.
