A small piece in my 'Coast' series, made of reclaimed wood and handmade cotton paper with paints, inks, pigment and pure silver leaf. I love old maps with their triangulation lines. (This is partly because I used to do research on medieval maps and travel.) They seem to embody the desire to cross the uncharted and dangerous seas to get to a safe or special place. Where the lines converge...that's the special place. And that's what I've tried to convey here.
