At the bottom of the Rhone valley, in Switzerland, the river originates in the glacier of the same name. I like this place fairly easy access from the laces of the collar of the Furka.
As everywhere in the Alps, the front of the glacier has retreated much, and the landscape has lost some of its wild charm
