Artist's description:

If you have been following my work, you may have noticed a change recently. After four years of painting representational landscapes, I have committed myself to non objective abstract art for one year, starting in August, 2017. This is to give myself the time to really explore this new direction.

This piece is an encaustic painting (bees wax, damar, pigment) on a 24" square wood panel.

The title, refers to a song. Like music, painting can just be about a feeling. I've chosen to name these pieces after songs because I feel a connection between the music and this body of work.

The painting is highly textured in thick brush strokes of oil paint mixed with bee's wax and damar. The mixture is heated and painted while hot, and the paint hardens as it cools.

Materials used:

Bees wax, oil paint, on cradled wood panel
