This is one of 12 exhibition works. This series of works I painted for the group exhibition, which was held in Ahjo gallery 1-21.03.2017, Joensuu, Finland.
Just as the traveler makes short but remarkably pithy and unique notes about his journey, so the artist collects his impressions on the canvas. I love nature because of its pristine beauty, and it gives me a fullness of joy and plenty of plots. Thus the landscape plays a great role in my works.
Combining different painting technique, I was wondering how to add the ornamental, graphic and abstract notes into realistic landscape. We can find all these art elements in nature, or it is better to say, that we are learning our art language from nature. I tried to create a landscape of imagination, where each part of the picture can be seen both separate and one with surrounding. This helps to make a new space in the paintings.
It was interesting to work through details and compositions. The ornamental objects were painted with acrylic and ink, whereas the details of realistic scenery were painted with oil. This combination helps to create different levels of depth.
I discovered the creative forces and ideas during the working process.
The series of works were painted with oil, acrylic, ink, sand and tempera.
NOTE: colours on the image and the original painting can be different to some extent due to the objective factors, e.g. camera, time of day, colour rendering on different devices.
If you have any questions or doubts concerning the colour rendering I will gladlly send you more pictures of my paintings in a different light and at different angles!
Please feel free to message me if you have any questions regarding my work.
