Having spent many hours constructing dens like this one with my children, I have long wanted to paint one. Covered in a blanket of snow, this one was too good to miss. I painted it in January in the sunny days that followed 3 days of solid snow. The winter woods, usually so dark, had light bouncing all around reflecting off the snow. With all of my snow series, I became quite obsessed by capturing 'that' blue.
This painting is on a linen canvas and framed in a bespoke Whistler style frame with gold beading and a pale slip.
