Childhood memories play a big part in what I paint, and as I've suggested in other posts, the weather in Scotland in winter can be pretty grim. A lot of my childhood was spent trudging to and from school in the worst kind of weather - horizontally blowing snow and sleet with an additional helping of rain and wind! And now that I'm an adult, I have to trudge to and from school with my child...
