“Lower Lucia Falls” is a predominately palette knife painting except for the initial block-in. This was my first experiment using Gamblin’s Portland Grays oil colors. As is the case with grays, they always enhance other colors including white when placed in the grays’ vicinity. . Another first with this painting was the use of Gamblin’s Asphaltum. As it is a deep transparent, it readily “mixed” with my other favorite colors. I am looking forward to further use of these “ready to go” out of the tube offerings by Gamblin. Kudos.. Gamblin!.
