This is an October 1995 photograph from the French Quarters in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, of a female apparently taking a smoke break in an area designated for parking purposes as a Fire Lane. The cigarette in her right hand is what originally caught my attention but her dress is what caused me to trip the shutter. The female is standing in the doorway of what appeared the be the unlabeled rear entrance of some business so I have no idea why she was wearing this dress from another time. If her cigarette had been a bit more primitive I easily could have believed she emerged from the building from another period of history.
This photograph was created from a Kodak Tri-X negative scanned with a Nikon Super Coolscan 8000 ED and processed via Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop before being printed as a giclee on archival 100% cotton rag fine art paper.
