This piece was commissioned by Sky Olsson, a Swedish collector and is made from a Victorian Jewellery box, part of an Edwardian kitchen mixer, original pages from a 1914 dictionary, a 1946 Ordnance Survey map of Devon, England, a very old brass porthole, two discs from a computer hard drive and the dark mahogany lid from an early Victorian tea caddy.
Turn the handle and the head of a 1930's bathing beauty rotates and is reflected below and behind her by the mirrored surfaces of the hard drive discs. She closes her eyes in contemplation of her secrets hidden within her world which only her and the artist know.
The piece measures 460mm high, has a maximum width of 220mm and is 150mm deep.
