I created this image of the London skyline using a range of different materials: pencil, ink and paint (both oil and acrylic) on paper. The view is a collection of some of my favourite architectural features: Nelson's Column, The Gherkin and the dome of St. Paul's Cathedral.
Woven behind are the names of the London streets where the buildings are found, plus one or two other city sights. The complex nature of the background implies the chaotic city life. It also echoes the maze-like modern street layout that still follows much of the original medieval structure buried beneath.
