Artist's description:

This is entitled 'Vous etes Charlie, sans le billet d'or: The grass is greener on...just another brick in the...' and is one off artwork part of a collection of original, one off Monoprints Sketches on A4 Paper. This has been inspired by the previous works 'The boy in the striped pyjamas' and 'Just another brick in the wall'.

This has been inspired by the conflict in Syria, in which refugee's are escaping Syria to head seek a better life in Europe. This image is inspired by the Boy washed up onto the Beach in Greece, and also refugee's landing at the UK Military Base in Cyprus, and are being turned away, and refused to claim asylum in the UK, represented by the stack of Computer Screens (Apple Computer, iPad etc.) forming a Wall like Berlin Wall. Also inspired by the film 'The boy in the striped Pyjamas' and 'Charlie and Chocolate Factory'. Life's a Lottery, you don't know if your born in Syria or Europe or elsewhere, and maybe Lucky enough to get a Lottery ticket to escape, and have new life like Steve Jobs (Syrian & founder of Apple Computers) similarly like Charlie in the Chocolate Factory!

This is to draw attention to the conflict, and the suffering of the refugee's and the deny of the UK Government to increase their share of Asylum seekers, unlike Germany, which was accepting refugee's with Open Arms!

Also is inspired by Banksy work of art at Refugee Camp at Calais, France, which depicts Steve Jobs (one of founders of Apple Computers) who's parent was Syrian, carrying an Apple Computer painted on the Wall (see last image). Within this piece, I have drawn upon this an created a Stack of Computers, mounted one on top of another, to create a physical wall, just like Berlin Wall, Germany. This contains, images of VDU (visual display units), Floppy Disks (representing eyes looking from the other side) and keyboard (5 horizontal lines indicating mouth). This has been inspired by the conflict in Syria, in which refugee's are escaping Syria to head seek a better life in Europe.
