Artist's description:

Portrait of a cockatoo.
An Australian Sulphur-Crested cockatoo is one of my favourite birds.
I love cockatoos for they are funny, cheeky and as smart as us - people. It's believed that cockatoos in the wild can live up to 40 years. But who knew that they could live to 100? No wonder they are that smart! Fred, a sulphur-crested cockatoo, celebrated his 100th birthday in October, 2014 at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary outside Hobart with a letter from The Queen!

Materials used:

acrylic paints on stretched canvas, metallic acrylic gold paint, edges black varnished
