Artist's description:

Sexism Project: Top Pop Male Artists

This work is for the “Sexism” Project, a project to highlight the indifferences and inequalities between woman and male Artist in the high end Art Market, with,

“only 1 out of 100 of the top lots sold at auction in 2015 was by a woman, and none of the world’s Top Ten richest living artist artists are woman”

And the artwork will be promoted for International Woman’s Day on 8th March.

This work is to highlight that the Male Artists have a Monopoly on the Art Market with opposite of previous work "Top Pop Woman Artists" and work contains purely Male Artists, that I have encountered or influenced my practice.

Within this work, I have made a list of my favourite Male Artists, arrange aphetically by surnames, starting from the far top left column, at "Banksy”, then “Basquiat”, and wrapping the text around, onto the next column, which follows a sequence or order known as “Conceptual Art” and finishing on the far right column with “WeiWei”, and contains 31 Male Artists.

I have used the colour Blue to give a Post Pop Art feel and highlight Woman inequalities, by the dominance of Male Artists with the use of vertical columns, and influenced by Artfinder’s “Cheeky Dot” circle.

For clarity of Artist names the last image has the circle removed.
