I used to feel every word that was spoken to me, in a physical way. It were as though I were enveloped by a thin rubber skin, and words pelted against me, often stinging. As I grew, I learned how to cope with most of what came my way, and people’s words just don’t seem to have the same effect upon me that they once did. Life feels easier now.
