If there is one thing I learned since getting back in touch with my culture it's that music plays a major part in how Mexicans celebrate almost any event. One of the most iconic musicians to emerge from Tex Mex music or Tejano music as it's called was Selena. Her music was loved by millions and still continues to be enjoyed. I decided to capture her vibrant personality on canvas in this portrait.
