This print is part of my 'Selected, Contained' series of prints, recently exhibited at the 2016 Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair. It works as a stand-alone piece, or as part of the set of five.
The series started from some small sketches which I did during a stay on Dartmoor during the summer. The drawings were loosely based on selected piles of stones and rubble, and trying to connect what I was drawing with where I was placed physically whilst drawing it - by placing the paper on the ground whilst drawing and incorporating the textured surface. I then wanted to isolate the resulting image to create a new, unfamiliar object in its own right - transforming it into an almost sculptural form.
