Jackie is a model who can strike a dynamic pose yet has the ability to maintain it with seeming ease. I have drawn her many times and always find her an interesting and inspiring subject even when, as in this drawing, the pose is tranquil and relaxed. I made this drawing directly from life when taking part in a drawing group where we were given a limited time to complete the work. The urgency to complete in the time available gave an energy to the mark making process that provided an interesting counterpoint to the otherwise peaceful nature of the drawing. The medium was a soft graphite pencil on tinted paper and the work is sold framed and ready to hang.
