Artist's description:

Inspired by the sea and the creatures within it I made this piece for an exhibition themed around Women and Food. It's made from two separate 'plates' carved and then printed layer upon layer.
The base layer is a silver metallic circle and it's symbology is related to the movement of the waves. The top layer of the crab is made in a graphic style and is a deep red over the silver. The whole image is printed on beautiful white Japanese paper.
The artwork is supplied with a wide white window mount and would sit easily within a 50 x 50 standard white or black frame.
