Original expressive Abstract landscape from a series of experimental abstract works
From a base that involved the manipulation of the movement of inks and watercolour in water grew this abstracts. Layers of watercolour, pencil and ink are applied in a variety of ways, and the work is further embellished with marks and scratches to create this expressive abstract work. I feel in this work that the shapes and forms take their reference from garden construction and activities; boulders, topiary and climbers. Inspired by mark making, and using various tools and materials, this painting brings together colour, design, composition and values to create an abstract which hints at an idea of a landscape with monolithic stones or sculpture, but is essentially open to the viewer's interpretation.
This 24cm x 30cm (9.5" x 12") Artwork was painted in February 2018.
Please be aware that colours may appear different to those on your screen and will look different in different lights.
