There is a calm under water. The world above may hold troubles, personal battles or struggles but there is peace below. I love to dive. In painting this image, I've created a distinct difference between the world above from the world beneath. Above, the world is full of chaos while beneath the world is soft with smooth gradations. Just off the continental shelf, the depth plunges so deep it feels like there is no bottom. I've heard some divers say they have a fear of falling. I feel like I'm flying high above the abyss. With no point of reference, there is a dream-like quality. It may be raging above but it's peaceful below.

Oil on gallery wrapped stretched canvas. Signed oil painting. Edges are painted and the work may be hung straight out of the box or framed.
