In 'Saint Paul's Dream' the pillowy motif represents the iconic London landmark, Saint Paul's cathedral. The ambiguous shape appears to levitate as if a dream or mirage. The colour palette is composed of soft pastel greens and yellows. The negative space reveals bright colours.
About the series: I’m excited about the discoveries made in this, my newest, series – 'blobitecture'. Each canvas is a curation of prominent architecture or cultural icons, now radically reduced and de-contextualized. The shapes are altered as if by blurry rain or faulty memory.
Note: this painting, left unframed, intentionally reveals my artistic process. The random paint build-up and serendipitous drips that coat the sides of the deep edge canvas are meant to be seen.
