Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

The Lotus flower (Nelumbo nucifera) symbol of peace and good fortune. In Buddhist symbolism, the lotus represents purity of the body, speech, and mind as if floating above the muddy waters of attachment and desire. According to legend Gautama Buddha was born with the ability to walk, and lotus flowers bloomed everywhere he stepped. In Christianity, the St. Thomas Cross features a lotus underneath a cross.

The lotus flower blooms and seeds at the same time so demonstrating the simultaneity of cause and effect.

Number 2 in this series.
