Artist's description:

I am embarking on a change of direction, by exploring figurative work, initially inspired by films from the Hollywood Golden Era to the present day, of Iconic Icons in the style of Post-Pop Art.

This is a one-off unique hand drawn artwork, and is the first of series of Icons inspired by the recent film ‘Life’ (2015) in which the photographic, Dennis Stock, capturing the early Life of the icon by photographs for the submission for the ‘Life’ magazine.

I have taken a different stance that I think would have made a better photographic composition, that could have been taken at the Icons home, when he receives a telephone call from the filmmaker Warner Brothers offering him the ‘Role in Rebel’.

I have been inspired by simple outline drawings, in thick ink, with infill textures, and comic text, such as the work by Roy Lichtenstein, Michael Craig-Martin and Julian Opie.
