This is the third, in a series, following previous version “10 Year Itch” & "Fun at the Fun Fair!", and has been inspired by the Elvis Presley and the song “JailHouse Rock (1957)”.
Elvis is standing on a Disco Dance-floor, gridded into squares, and represents a secret message in Binary Code. An infill square of either, Blue, Red or Yellow indicates a 1 in the Binary Code, such that from left to right it will display a Letter from the Alphabet, and forms words. Also, inspired by the Disco dance floor lights of the 1970s and later work of Angela Bulloch.
I have been inspired by simple outline drawings, in thick ink, with infill textures, and comic text, such as the work by Roy Lichtenstein, Michael Craig-Martin and Julian Opie, Angela Bulloch.
*** Offer Any Three works, "...because you're Gorgeous...nobody puts Baby-Bird in the Corner!", "Rock n Roll Star!", "Fun at the Fun Fair!" and "10 Year Itch", for the Price of Two, of £120, while Stocks Lasts.
