Artist's description:

Coal Face is part of a series that has to do with hard labor. I use subdued colors and loose brush strokes, as in most of my paintings, in order to create the mood and feel of the working environment. Art buyers may see a symbolic reference to prominent 20th century American painters like George Bellows, John Sloan, Isabell Bishop, and Edward Hopper. This artwork is currently for sale and if you would like to proceed with a secure purchase, please click on the buy artwork button below.

All of my paintings are done on linen adhered to hardboard panel which has been treated to prevent warping and last a lifetime.
