Original artwork description:

A cool coloured interpretation of the changing colours and light of the seasons of trees seen by the roadside during journeys over the last eighteen months. Capturing the icy chill despite the winter sun shining on the trees which have dropped their leaves in autumn. Still pretty in pink.

Whether that chill reminded me of Austria, not sure, but there is a bit of channelling of the works of Gustav Klimt going on here. All that study time not wasted!

The acrylic painting incorporates luminescent and silver-coloured paint which makes it shimmer in changing lights (even more than layered acrylic already does). Painted with brushes and sticks to create the effects of the bark and the leaves.

Painted on canvas, on shallow stretchers, with white edges. D-ring fixers and hanging cord attached. Ready to hang.

I create from what I observe and 18 months I spent hardly any time at racing and a lot of time driving to and from my home to mother. So I've seen the UK countryside throughout all weathers and seasons whilst also reflecting on the ups and downs of life and old age. More about the inspirations for the "Light Series" of works created in 2017 are on my website blog. Other works in the series can be seen in the Light Series Collection.

Depending on the settings on your mobile/tablet/PC/Mac the colours may differ slightly to the painting you receive. The painting does change colour and brightness depending on the light that is playing on it (as seen in the photos).
