Original artwork description:
When resting isn't restful. This fella came to me in a dream - and as such, I invented him piece by piece, not using any other figures as reference. Built up with layers of colour applied with palette knife, I wanted to evoke sculpture as well as something dignified and peaceful. After a lot of working into the image he appeared and exists as he is, not perfect but beautiful.
Oil on board, gold metallic oils give it brilliance in the right light.
