Artist's description:

This painting is from a memory......driving through country that was devastated by the Black Saturday fires in Victoria in 2009. Several months later, just approaching Healsville, in a cool forest I saw the vivid green of new shoots on the blackened trunks of the gums. The first sign of new life. The landscape is very resilient.
