Artist's description:

About the title and story of this drawing/painting Dwayne and I made in collaboration:
'Marks' in terms of felt markers and lines, 'Rerik' is the name of a village between the Haff and the Baltic Sea / Ostsee in former East-Germany.

There was a green peninsular in our view, worth a bike ride - so we thought.
A man came by and said: "You can't go there - it's closed."
"There was the Wehrmacht first (WW II Military), then the Russians, and now rare birds." WOW. Amazing real content in one sentence while on vacation.
We went there as close as we could get, until a gate across the street marked the end. Through it we saw the wild wood - buildings in it were falling apart, most likely former barracks. No birds.

Dwayne finished his part of this artwork in Rerik, I finished mine in Berlin.
Subtle it expresses the experience.
On strong watercolor paper; flat it will travel well in a cardboard box.
If you want it framed we'll work it out.

It will be shown in 2 PAPER PAIR EXHIBITIONS in September 2017,
Can be purchased and shipped anytime.

Materials used:

markers, gouache, water on 250 g/m watercolor paper

Rerik Marks - 30 x 40 cm (2017)
