Artist's description:

Which mask to choose for carnival.

Various schellack inks and bistres on medium textured watourcoloured paper. 300gr/m2
Bistres were the medium of the old masters, e.g. Rembrandt. It is made of the soot of burnt nutshels. The powder is then dilluted with water to create an intense ink. Bistre is not 100% lightfast. Luckily these days we have excellent UV blocking coatings to counteract this and give the art a long life.

Materials used:

inks and bisters. pen and washed
